Getting Started with Owning

Category: Account & Basics Last updated: 2026-07-12

Welcome to Owning — the marketplace where good things find their next owner. Whether you're buying, selling, or just browsing, this guide will get you up and running in minutes.

Create an account

You don't need an account to browse listings or contact sellers — anyone can search, view items, and send messages freely. But to sell, save favorites, or use the API, you'll need to register.

  1. Go to owning.pro/register.
  2. Enter your email address, a password, and your name.
  3. Click Register — you're in.

Registration is free and instant. No email verification step is required to start browsing or listing.

Browse and search listings

The homepage shows featured listings and popular categories. To search more specifically:

  • Use the search bar at the top of any page to find items by keyword.
  • Filter by category — electronics, vehicles, fashion, real estate, home & garden, sports, books & media, toys, and more.
  • Filter by price range, condition (new, like new, good, fair, poor, refurbished), country, and city.
  • Toggle shipping available to find items that can be sent to you.

Results update instantly as you apply filters. You can also browse category-specific pages like /boats, /electronics, or /fashion.

Save favorites and searches

Once logged in, you can:

  • Favorite listings — click the heart icon on any listing to save it for later.
  • Save searches — get notified when new listings match your criteria.
  • View your favorites at /favorites.

Contact a seller

Found something you like? Open the listing page and click "Contact seller". You can send a message directly through the platform without revealing your email address. The seller receives a notification and can reply through Owning.
