How to Create a Listing

Creating a listing on Owning is free and takes just a few minutes. Our sell wizard walks you through each step, and you can even use AI to generate a draft from your photos.

Step 1: Upload photos

Go to owning.pro/sell and start the sell wizard. The first step is to upload at least one photo of your item.

• Drag and drop images or click to browse.
• Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC up to 10 MB each.
• Add multiple angles — front, back, sides, and close-ups of any defects.
• Listings with at least 3 photos get significantly more views.

You can reorder photos by dragging, and remove ones you don't want.

Step 2: Let AI generate a draft (optional)

After uploading photos, you'll see an "Generate with AI" button. Click it and our AI will analyze your photos and auto-fill:

• Title — a specific, descriptive title
• Description — a detailed write-up of the item
• Category — automatically detected
• Estimated price range — based on similar items
• Condition — assessed from the photos
• Tags and attributes — brand, model, color, and more

AI generation is optional. If you prefer to fill in details manually, just skip it and proceed to the next step. See AI Listing Generation for more details.

Step 3: Fill in the details

Review or enter the listing details:

• Title — be specific (e.g., "iPhone 14 Pro 256GB Deep Purple")
• Category — pick the closest match
• Price — enter a fair price and choose your currency
• Condition — new, like new, good, fair, poor, or refurbished
• Description — include details, defects, and anything a buyer should know
• Location — set your city and country, indicate if shipping is available

If you used AI generate, these fields will be pre-filled — just review and adjust as needed.

Step 4: Review and publish

Review your listing one final time. When you're happy with it, click "Publish". Your listing goes live after a quick moderation review — usually within minutes.

After publishing

You can manage your listing from your dashboard:

• Edit — update title, description, price, images at any time
• Pause — temporarily hide your listing
• Mark as sold — when the item is no longer available
• Delete — permanently remove the listing

Listings stay active for 30 days by default. You can renew them if they haven't sold.

Tips for a great listing

• Use natural light and clean backgrounds for photos
• Be honest about condition — mention scratches, dents, or wear
• State whether the price is firm or negotiable
• Explain what's included (original box, charger, accessories)
• Compare with similar listings to price competitively
