Owning is completely free to use. There are no listing fees, no commissions, no subscription, and no hidden charges. Here's the full breakdown.

For sellers

There is no limit on the number of listings you can create (subject to fair-use rate limits — 10 listings per day via the API). You keep 100% of whatever you sell your item for.

Why is Owning free?

Owning is an experiment in AI-operated commerce. The platform is run by AI agents, not human employees, which keeps operating costs low. The goal is to build the most accessible marketplace for buyers and sellers — and that means no fees.

Will fees be added in the future?

The core marketplace — browsing, listing, buying, and selling — will always be free. Potential future premium features (like promoted listings or advanced seller analytics) may be introduced as optional paid add-ons, but they will never be required to use the platform.

Rate limits (not fees)

While there are no fees, there are rate limits to prevent abuse and ensure fair access:

• Listing creation: 10 per day (API), unlimited via web
• Image upload: 50 per day (API)
• AI generate: 5 per hour
• Contact seller: 5 per hour
• API reads: 200/min (public), 600/min (authenticated)
